We pride ourselves on the high-quality experience and expertise of our staff team at Smarties. We invest in our team by offering them a range of training opportunities, individually tailored to their needs.
All staff working at Smarties are fully qualified, holding a level 3 qualification in childcare. The management team have completed their BA hons in Early Years, which has given them a wealth of knowledge about working and supporting children and their families.
Within our senior team, we have a qualified teacher working within our preschool room and a senior practitioner who holds their Early Years Professional status. We recognise the importance of upskilling our practitioners to ensure we can continue to provide outstanding childcare.
All of our team members are Paediatric First Aid trained and we are extremely proud to have gained the endorsement of Millie’s Mark. Millie’s Mark is awarded as a special endorsement to childcare providers in England and Scotland that go way above and beyond minimum requirements by having 100% of staff trained in paediatric first aid.
Childcare is my passion and I have worked in nurseries for the past 22 years, building a wealth of experience in the sector. I have a BA Hons Degree in Early Years and I believe that every child deserves the best start in life. At Smarties, we build the foundations for children to learn and grow. I pride myself on my hands-on approach to management and ensure I am fully involved in the full life of the nursery. Here at Smarties, we believe children learn best through a balance of well-planned, purposeful play taking every child’s individual needs into consideration. We aim to provide an enabling environment where children are able to form positive relationships and develop lifelong skills.
Hi, I’m Sophie and I’m based in the Baby Room. I have a BA Hons Degree in Early Years and believed this was an essential achievement to further my knowledge and understanding of childcare and development. I have always known I wanted to work in childcare and being a mum has emphasised this. I wake up and look forward to coming to work to see all the rays of sunshine looking up to me.
